Problem:
When a user attempts to view an ArTrac G4 screen, an error message "A generic error occurred in GDI+" is displayed.
Solution:
This problem is caused because the GDI+ interface does not have permission to write to the web folder.
For Windows NT Server and 2000 Server:
1. In the ArTrac G4 machine, give the ASPNET group write permission for the entire directory:
- C:\InetPub\wwwroot\ArTrac
2. Open up the task manager in the ArTrac G4 machine and click on the "Processes" tab.
3. Locate the process named aspnet_wp.exe and end the process. It will automatically restart in a few seconds.
4. Access your ArTrac G4 system and attempt to display the screen that generated the fault. You should note that the screen now displays correctly.
For Windows 2003 Server:
1. In the ArTrac G4 machine, give the NETWORK SERVICES group write permission for the entire directory:
- C:\InetPub\wwwroot\ArTrac
2. Open up the task manager in the ArTrac G4 machine and click on the "Processes" tab.
3. Locate the process named w3wp.exe and end the process. It will automatically restart the next time ArTrac is accessed.
4. Access your ArTrac G4 system and attempt to display the screen that generated the fault. You should note that the screen now displays correctly.
