BLIP is a GIS-based application that provides a comprehensive
picture of telecommunications networks by coalescing information from a variety
of sources. It pulls data from the FCC (e.g. tower or microwave locations),
from your internal systems (e.g. coverage data, Master Lease Agreements and
their locations, switches, towers, and other network elements), and from
business credit bureaus that identify all businesses and their locations in the
U.S. BLIP's sophisticated set of analyst tools enables you to view this
information in graphical and report formats.
Key Features and Functions:
-
Geocoding Module
Easily incorporate user data locations into BLIP by simply uploading your data
locations through the built-in Geocoding Module. The module translates the
locations into latitude and longitude coordinates, and plots them on the GIS
displays.
-
Real-time Trouble Reporting
Given inputs from a remote application or database, such as Fault Management,
Performance Management, or Trouble Ticketing systems, locations on the GIS
displays change color and/or shape. Access detailed information on any issue by
clicking the affected location in the display.
-
Outage Board Module
This module, which supports Service Availability Management, enables Customer
Care representatives to document service-related anomalies. BLIP aggregates
anomaly reports across Customer Care centers and displays a centralized picture
of the Service Affecting impact.
-
Electronic Document Management System
Especially during Site Acquisition/ Build-out processes, you'll rely on BLIP to
support the approval and central storage of documents. BLIP incorporates remote
uploads of single documents, zipped folders, and provides a bulk upload feature
for large documents.
